Funniest coaching moment
I was one of the coaches for a big group of more than 30 students. It’s a 13 session programme. On our 3rd session, we were supposed to select 10 players for a competition. A lady volunteered herself even though she wasn’t selected. When asked why, she said she was afraid if she didn’t join the competition, she could not come for future pickleball sessions. We had to assure her that wasn’t the case. It’s very inspiring how many the students really love pickleball.
Most memorable student moment
I have a senior student who said that she really enjoys coming for pickleball sessions because it allows her to interact and have fun with others. She shared that her husband had passed away six months ago and she felt lonely at home. Totally tear-jerking moment.
